Accent property, a small time local agent that proports to play alongside the big players, but ahs a complete lack of ability to match them for service, quality or professionalism.

Accent are the worst letting agent I have come across in over ten years of letting property as a tennant (on 6 ocassions) and letting property as a landlord.

Tenant service is non existant. They treat tenants as a source of income, over charging for referencing, cleaning, adhoc work, and check out (£56!).

During our residency our property was sold by the landlord through Savills (who put Accent to shame with their professional approach). We returned from work on a number of ocassions to find Accent had failed to lock the front door when showing people around, and on one ocassion my partner came home to find a random tradesman in the flat - completely un-announced. Sadly this it appears is commonplace... when we viewed the property with them they had failed to let the previous tennants know we were comming round, yet marched in anyhow.

Advice - Yes they have the Belvedere lettings market pretty much sewn up. Yes, they have a lot of nice property, however, you will pay for everything, you will not get any service from them, they will try to fleece you when you leave. When challenged we found the staff resulted to playground bullying behaviours, threatening not to return deposits, and incorrectly quoting the law to us (which we ultimatley had to resolve by going direct to the management to sort). Beware !
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent showed a complete lack of professionalism, We rented a premium property, at a premium price, and recieved 3rd division service. No manuals, would turn up un-announced, would not lock up property on leaving, threatened us with regard to the deposit (incorrectly understanding the legal position).

What agent could do to change your mind?
Bear in mind that some of your prospective customers are students, who do not have the money or experience that your other customers may have. If you're going to reject tenants from renting tell them as soon as you know rather than waiting for them to get in touch, what are you paid for after all?

I live at Warren Close. Accent has nothing to do with the lifts - they are the responsibility of the ENCORE estate management firm. If you didn't deal with Accent long enough to find this out, you tenancy must have been very short. If you had stayed with them longer, your review would have been very different! ...

No fees information available
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
