Oh dear, where should I start? We've been renting in the UK (initially in London and now in Cambridge) for many years and we have never had such poor service from a property management company. Repairs take months to be repaired. Reported tiles in the bathroom coming loose from the wall back in April. The whole summer passed (ideal for works in wet areas such as bathrooms) and nothing was done. Suddenly now (December) Accent decides that it's time to repair the tiles. Tiles are removed from the wall and, surprise surprise, the wall is all damp and cold and new tiles cannot be installed. Accent tell us to have heating on 24/7 for several days until wall dries, which we refuse in the grounds that we shouldn't incur in extra expenses for their repairs, especially when it was their fault that this wasn't done over the summer months. Accent blames the landlord saying that it took them this long to accept the cost of the repair - I'm sure the landlord is not even aware that it is being blamed. And the most surprising thing is that the very same landlord used to accept necessary repairs within days when the property was being managed by another company that was bought by Accent (and therefore they took over the letting of the property).
Sorry, I had to vent this frustration. It is far from being the first one. Other examples include over one year to install a working fire alarm (I'm not joking!!!) and 6 weeks to sort a bee nest in the chimney breast (really nice to have bees all over the house during 6 weeks), etc, etc... oh, and a complaint to the association of letting agents which was never responded to by the association.
