Rube stop being a nube!! I visited 2 offices due to looking in 2 different areas of London, Islington and Chelsea, and low and behold Martin and Co have offices in both locations. Completely untrue... Sadly I this has post has been "made up" by someone with too much time on their hands and a wild imagination, possibly a competitor. We have just won a National "ESTA" award for customer service amongst Estate Agents and Lettings Agents where we ranked 3rd in the southern region and 11th nationally with a rating of 98.8%. After asking them a simple question regarding my property they told me to F off on the phone, yes this is their level of proffesionalisim. I can comment on the last bit of your review. We had this with Northwoods but i phoned the referencing agency and they said we could submit 6 months worth of bank statements showing the rent has been payed on time. Seems thats all they want from your agent is for them to say you payed your rent on time. Hope this helps someone. ...

They were just being thorough and making sure you both liked the property. Anyone who has been through legal combat with a landlord down the line knows that thoroughness at the start of the process is a very good attribute for an estate agent to have. It's not always easy for estate agents to get straight back to tenants regarding repair works when a proeprty is managed on behalf of the landlord. Why? Because without any confirmation as to whether they are or are not allowed to do works has to be authorised by the landlord. Sometimes the landlords want a quote from the agent as to how much repairs will cost as estate agents sometimes have tehir own contractors and yes for getting their contractors they have a profit margin.
