What agent could do to change your mind?
Stop ripping off students! The ‚£200 deposit we give to many companies is on top of paying half rent over summer when we can't even move in! This half rent over summer is supposed to pay to get the house ready for us, so why do we then have to pay again at the end of the year out of our deposits despite leaving the house in a clean state!? Companies like this are turning students into cash cows and there should be a law against it.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could reply to our emails and should not leave it to the tenants to contact sub-contractors to sort out problems. Sub-contractors who never return calls and very rarely answer.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Could have been nicer people to deal with. It was very much so a "me- cat, you- mouse" set up. Absolutely no tact, never did they leave the house and we say "that was nice of them" or anything complimentary. Best complaint of theirs "your skirting boards are too dusty". In a student house. Logic defeats the employees of accomod8 and no common sense or helpfulness is used by them. A really awful company. An entire upheaval of the staff and policy change is needed to even tempt me to even think of accomod8 again.

Give us our deposit back. Maintain the house properly. Have friendlier staff who were willing to helo face to face rather than hide behind an e-mail address.

Took 5 months to be fixed ¢â‚¬Â¢ Extractor fan in kitchen broken, refused to fix ¢â‚¬Â¢ Handle was broken ¢â‚¬Â¢ Kitchen dirty ¢â‚¬â€œ not ¢â‚¬Å“professionally cleaned¢â‚¬Â ¢â‚¬Â¢ Cupboard doors hanging off hinges x2 ¢â‚¬â€œ not even attached x1 ¢â‚¬Â¢ Back of cupboard wasn¢â‚¬â„¢t attached so allowed mice into cupboards and ate food ¢â‚¬Â¢ No plugs in kitchen ¢â‚¬Â¢ Broken shower head (downstairs) ¢â‚¬Â¢ No pull cord in bathroom ¢â‚¬Â¢ Broken blinds in peoples room ¢â‚¬Â¢ Broken window in top floor bedroom and in the kitchen ¢â‚¬â€œ these are still broken, after 17 months.... ¢â‚¬Â¢ Mattresses unsuitable for use Our problems with Accommod8 after we moved in: ¢â‚¬Â¢ Sofa broken, falling apart, fireproof material was peeling off, sharp bit of metal sticking out of it ¢â‚¬Â¢ Fridge freezer broke twice ¢â‚¬â€œ took 5 weeks to replace, ruined probably around ‚£150 worth of our food, twice. ¢â‚¬Â¢ Washing machine broken, which damaged our clothes ¢â‚¬â€œ (Accommod8 only replaced this when we showed a video of the drum rubbing on the glass door and sparking) ¢â‚¬Â¢ Lock on front door was changed without even being told in JULY 2012 which would randomly engage the deadlock, locking us in the house only leaving the door in the kitchen to get out of in the case of a fire, was fixed in JANUARY 2013 after they were rude to us and then stopped replying to our emails. ¢â‚¬Â¢ Boiler stopped working ¢â‚¬â€œ took two weeks to fix. ¢â‚¬Â¢ Internet at Heritage court when we moved in was 30kbs, this is slower than dialup, so we were forced to buy our own at ‚£25 a month for 24months, even though we would be still paying for the internet as part of our rent. ¢â‚¬Â¢ Missing a ridge tile on the roof, which will be allowing water in, this has been reported but as of yet, nothing has been done about it, accommod8 haven¢â‚¬â„¢t even been around to check for potential water damage in the loft.
