Terrible agency, stay away at ALL costs! Members of staff are extremely rude, unhelpful, uninformative and have very poor people skills.
When I first moved into the property, there was a leak in the kitchen from under the sink - I was going away on holiday so informed the agency that a plumber needed to be sent out - I asked them to keep me up-to-date on any work being undertaken as I couldn't be around and didn't feel comfortable having workmen in the property without me being present.
I didn't receive any phone calls until the work had been completed, I was then sent a £60 bill and told a ¢â‚¬Ëœwashing machine engineer' had been sent out who had replaced a pipe on my machine ¢â‚¬â€œ I felt it was unreasonable of them to undertake this work without my consent because I could have told them the washing machine wasn't fitted properly due to me only just moving in and I knew this wasn't causing the leak. (otherwise I wouldn't have called them!)
I came home to lights left on in the kitchen and a puddle of water on the floor, I called the offices again - all of which was dealt with by a member of staff named Corrinne who couldn't understand much English and was extremely difficult to communicate with - when asked to speak to another colleague, I was told this wasn't allowed as members of staff are allocated to certain properties. When asked to speak to a more senior person, was told ¢â‚¬Ëœyou won't get to speak to them, they will not deal with you, we are the property managers and that's that'.
Finally, there was agreement for a plumber to be sent out who said the actual problem was the waste pipe under the sink which was 'ill-fitted and of a substandard quality' - this was replaced and the leak stopped. We agreed to split the bill which I wasn't completely happy with as I felt this situation could have been avoided if MBM actually employed members of staff who were competent and could communicate correctly with their tenants but I felt there was negotiation so paid it.
I submitted a complaint to the MBM Facebook, which was replied to 7 months later by the Director of the company (Michael Lee) who was extremely unapologetic, unsympathetic and actually made derogatory comments about my mother (who also tried to ring on my behalf after I got extremely upset/frustrated with the whole situation).
I am now moving out of the property and in dispute regarding my deposit as I am being charged extortionate fees for gardening services which are unreasonable compared to the market average / the amount of the work involved.
I was also informed via e-mail that I l had left an item at the property, I rang MBM and spoke to Kate who said I would be able to meet someone at the property to collect this, I informed her that I could collect the item that day and she said she would call me back to arrange this ¢â‚¬â€œ I didn't receive a phone call so I rang again and spoke to Kerry who said that a workman was already at the property so collected the item to bring back to the office, however, he'd finished for the day but I could collect it the following day. I asked specifically 'will I get charged for this?' to which Kerry said 'NO' - I then received an email the next morning saying I would be charged £20 for the removal of the item ¢â‚¬â€œ when I spoke to Kerry to complain about this, she denied any of the conversation we'd had the day previous and accused me of ¢â‚¬Ëœplaying members of staff off each other' - insinuating I was being manipulative / lying about what was said¢â‚¬â€œ I feel the way in which I was treated and spoken to was absolutely disgusting and unprofessional.
I will NEVER recommend anybody to use this estate agents and will ensure I inform people of their unforgivable behaviour.

Comment on agent fees
Don't like fees for "credit search" etc as most other business types do them for free !!! but it seems Letting agencies use this as an excuse for making a bit extra towards there running costs. This is a general comment and is not aimed at MBM directly.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Communication could have been much better. Agent could have done much more to have made tenants keep property in better condition, e.g.they didn't even expect carpets to be cleaned on vacating property (every other letting agent expects this) Agent failed to get tenants to sign standing order. What agent could do to change your mind?
property should have been cleaned before we moved in, decoration is very poor. Staff are rude and slam phone down. Staff should give their names and keep to appointments It is not normal to have to clean doors, walls, windows etc every day due to the huge build up of mould. When staff say "they've made a note of something" they should probably do so and not pretend something was never reported.Attached Filesnbsp;

Helen - How can you say your staff are trained and do not respond in an inappropriate manner? Clearly this lady has been spoken to rudely and her custom has been dismissed. As a representative of MBM Management your first priority should be to apologise! Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
