Absolutely the worst experience ever! Have been a tenant here for 6 months now and it just keeps getting worse. The problems started from the minute we decided to take the apartment. We had to pay a ridiculously large deposit, about twice the usual amount. For that we had to do all the referencing work ourselves, their referencing company does nothing and lets you arrange everything. When the references came back they decided they wanted to increase the rent by 50 pounds, we could only accept or lose our massive deposit.

Two weeks later we finally received our contract which included a large amount of unusual clauses that could lead to significant disadvantages for the tenant (one example out of many: six-month break clause for the landlord but no break clause for tenants). We emailed them straight-away about the things we wanted to change in the contract but got no reply for a week. After a reminder it still took another 4 days for them to tell us they would look into it. Then another week and a half later we received a contract that was still not even close to fair.

At that point we had been trying to get things sorted for over a month and we only had two weeks until the move-in date so I decided to give them a call. The worst thing I could have done: They have some kind of cheap provider on both their landlines and mobiles, in combination with their South-African accents (all of them) they are therefore Absolutely, Completely Unintelligable on the phone. They probably know this because they would never agree to anything in emails (because that would have given us proof) but on the phone they were telling us they would take care of everything and that all our wishes would be granted (at least that was what I thought from the small parts I could hear).
In the end we signed the contract but are now stuck with a lot of unfair clauses which they and the landlord are fully using to their advantage.

In any contact we have had since they have been the rudest people I have ever dealt with and wilfully unhelpful at that.

Avoid at all cost!!!

Thank you for taking the time to make these comments and I have investigated the issues you raised.

We now restructured a number of things including our reference company, and telephone system.

Our team come from a varied background but we do aim to be polite, helpful and intelligible on the phone. We believe our pricing and legal paperwork are within the industry standards and we are part of the Ombudsman Scheme, in addition we now have a very clear complaints procedure which we also publish on Allagents.

It is regrettable that your experience was negative but be assured we always try to improve our customer service.
