Unfortunately by the time most people read the reviews the damage has invariably been done. Chimneys, as agents, are a disgrace to their profession. They are a joke. Extremely unprofessional, rude, liars...the worse experience ever. I am a respectible business man and they (in particular Rachel) should be ashamed of themselves. As soon as we were ready to move we unfortunately upset them by asking for a Draft Tenancy Agreement in advance but were refused saying that it was normal to come in a sign when we picked up the keys. We insisted...big mistake. We lost the tenancy as they made derisory comments about us to the landlord. We are now fighting for the return of the admin fees. How many others have suffered the same fate as us? We plan to take our complaints to a higher authority...these people need to understand that they cannot be allowed to continue in business causing this level of havoc and unpleasantness.

‘John’ & ‘Jenny’ are a couple. They were thoroughly shown over the property by the owner and a Chimneys’ staff member. They agreed a much reduced rent & a shorter let with the owner in return for an early entry date, they agreed they would move kitchen units & activate the alarm at their own expense. Despite signing our Terms & Conditions, ‘John’ refused to allow us to take up a bank ref saying they had £100,000 in the bank etc. They believed they were better than the average person and treated Chimneys staff with disrespect as lesser beings. The landlord insisted on the bank reference etc & Chimneys applied. Chimneys did agree to send out an Agreement and did so. ‘John’ & ‘Jenny’ harassed the landlord as they did Chimneys and said that unless she agreed to vary the agreement made with her, they would pull out of the let. She refused and they withdrew their application. Chimneys’ Terms & Conditions state that if a tenant pulls out they lose the Admin Fee. If an owner pulls out the fee is returned in full. ‘John’ & ‘Jenny’ harassed and threatened Chimneys for the return of the fee. Chimneys had done all the work & rightly refused. They took Chimneys to the Small Claims Court. The judge found for Chimneys and said in court that they would have made bad tenants & she saw the landlord’s point of view not least because the bank reference despite their claims was a bad one. Chimneys was never rude etc as they claimed although almost without exception, they were. They were not left high & dry and still owned a flat. We note the unnecessary reference to ‘Scottish people’ which is meant to be derogatory but is racist. The day after they lost in court an envelope arrived at Chimneys’ office with ‘John’ & ‘Jenny’s’ ref number. Written inside the envelope flap was C_NTS. This demonstrates the sort of people they are.
