I let a flat through Felicity J Lord, part of Spicerhart. They employed a contractor to replace a hob and washing machine. I found out that both appliances were old (the washing machine was 11 years old) even though Felicity Lord said they were new and charged me for new appliances. Felicity Lord are cowboys. Their plumber forced me to buy a new boiler costing รƒยฏร‚ยฟร‚ยฝ3000 unnecessarily. My old boiler passed it's Gas Safety test, but a week later, once my tenant was in, FJL sent in their plumber to fix a minor problem with the toilet and he announced the old boiler was broken and he disconnected it. Hi Ross, I highly doubt that your review (if you DO have one) would change a thing. I spent 18 months trying to get someone to work with me on these issues and everyone sounded wonderfully sympathetic and helpful. The reality was though, that your company policy of shifting clients from one person to another as soon as an issue occurred is the biggest frustration of all. An estate agent's role is to take offers and relay it to sellers of a property. I have rented properties in London on and off for about 7 years. This is not just the worst experience I have had with a letting agent, it is absolutely the worst experience I have ever encountered in my life. Almost three times the industry average for a change of name on the contract - รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ360?! That is the cost of a whole new tenancy. Do not expect anything but deceit and inaction as soon as you've signed the contract! Any works required prior to moving in which the fee apparently covers will not be completed.

This was the most horrific experience I've ever had and I lived in London for nearly a decade. Scandalous behaviour. I kind of wish they were rude to me, at least then I would have some substance. I have used the services of FJ Lord for many years to rent my flat in Tamarind Yard. The service I received this time was exceptional. Tomas not only organised my new tenancy with great efficiency but also organised the refurbishment of my flat (redecoration, new flooring and general maintenance) to be completed in 3 days between the tenancies. Worst agents ever.Spoke to 3 different people regarding buying flat in Canary Wharf and surrounding areas. I spoke to a lady named Catherine over the phone. Initially she hung up on me as soon as I said Hi, I called again immediately, same lady picked up the phone, I told her she had just hung up on me, there was no sorry nothing, she asked me my name as if my name was the reason she hung up! Very rude, she basically said all the properties are going very fast so if I am not willing to put down a deposit today I shouldnt be wasting her time.(!)...

The worst letting agent I have ever dealt with. The flat had no hot water in the toilet, which is clearly unsanitary - this was never fixed. When we left the property, they lost รƒยฏร‚ยฟร‚ยฝ2,426.67 and couldn't find the payment on their system! This was only resolved because we had kept our own record and receipt. A gas leak in the flat was detected during a yearly maintenance and it took them nearly 3 months to finally fix the issue. During which time we had to choose to either live without a boiler or to turn it on at the risk of nitrogen oxide poisoning. At the end of the year, we decided to end the tenancy and they took another 2 months to return our deposit. The support staffs are extremely unresponsive. I rented a flat via their agency and I am very unhappy the way this agency dealt with the whole process from the beginning. They never answer my emails and are very evasive and condescending over the phone. It's hard to understand why I paid the agency fees considering they never were never able to answer my questions. As a buyer I had no choice but they are not very good. I can't work out if they are vague and unhelpful deliberately in order to confuse and deceive people or whether it's just incompetence. They have a strange system where they insist on putting all rejected offers in a letter (except it isn't all rejected offers, just some of them at random, with the letters generated from some kind of warehouse in Milton Keynes or somewhere and arriving long after things have moved on). We saw the 1-bed flat and decided to move-in on 02/10/2015 with an agree of 6 months renting fee in advice. After signing the offer form they took £1,000 deposit from our credit card. We did submit all required documents; however, they said our guarantor does not meet their requirement (that has to own a house in UK - which not stated anywhere in the offer form). The manager Alex inspired confidence from the first meeting in terms of FJL's ability to market the property effectively to achieve a good sale in a timely fashion. Unjustified fees!! My boyfriend has been renting from them for the past few years, his contract ended, and chose not to renew it and we found another place. Really really nasty letting agents. They will tell you anything you want to hear to take a holding deposit of รƒโ€šร‚ยฃ1000.00 from you. I ended up pulling out of my lease when I caught them going back on things they had originally said were in place, and from reading other reviews it looks like I had a lucky escape. There are so many letting agents in London, use the others and AVOID this one! They just want your money and signature....
