I have never felt the need to write a review on any agent, however in this case Quilliams are the exception. From the moment of moving in to the premises everything was recorded incorrectly. The check in was a quick sprint around the flat with us having to point out the details the agent had missed. I recommend an independent agent to check in and out, as when we checked out the agent then started making accusations that we had not left the property in the same condition as when we arrived. Taking photos to prove the point, yet no photos were taken at the time of checking in. At check-in our comments on the property condition were recorded, unsurprisingly these did not make the check-out.
The deposit was held with TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) by them and they have now insisted that we pay a £50 check out fee! Whilst it is agreed this does appear in the contract, nothing was ever said to us about the check out fee. We were never asked to make any payments to them when we left the property. Now three months after moving we are still waiting for our deposit and Quilliams have enter a dispute with TDS requesting the £50 payment! They seem to have reported to TDS that we did not attend a check out either, which is not true. We were present and our disputes were not listened to.
This company have been a joke from the start and I would not recommend using any services they provide. Lies and underhanded tactics. The stress and financial loss suffer over this period of time is not acceptable. If you value your sanity and cash-flow, look else where.

I am the tenant and note that Julia Quilliam did nothing to apologise for her staff's actions when she was given an opportunity to do so. Further, I went through point by point of my review with her and was able to prove each point - I note she doesn't respond to certain aspects that she is guilty of. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
