Breckon and Breckon lettings is absolutely the most horrible, money greedy and unprofessional agency that I have ever come across. Having let a 1025 PCM flat in the heart of Oxford from them is something I will always regret. Hot water does not run in the flat for more than 20 min, making it absolutely impossible for 2 people to shower and do the dishes all in one day! This is something the agency did not state prior to me moving in and something they later stated could not be fixed. This flat was rented with a 1 year contract, a contract that I unfortunately had to break after 10 months, the fee for this was 1250 PCM! This money goes directly in to the pocket of the agency, the money does not cover referencing the new tenants, it does not cover cleaning and it does not cover any extra fees.. Actually it only covers for them to sit on their arse and put the flat available on their website. So besides having to pay 1250 PCM to break the contract, I have to pay 135 pounds for ¢â‚¬ËœEnd of Tenancy Cleaning' and I have to pay the rent between the day that I am moving out and the day which the new tenants are moving in.. A quick calculation tells me that it will be 256 pounds, as the new tenants are moving in a week after I move out! And bare in mind even though I pay that extra rent I am not allowed to live in the flat! Lastly, the agency do not warn you when they send over people and contractors to your flat, as of now a man just opened the door to my flat with his own set of keys while I was stepping out of the shower! This agency is absolutely disgraceful and I will never recommend this to anyone!
What agent could do to change your mind?
I have to pay for a light bulb to be changed, for the cleaning and for the rent between me moving out and the next people moving in and maybe all this wouldnt be too bad if it wasnt for the fact that I already paid 1250 pounds!

High fees, though probably standard for the area - it is particularly unreasonable to keep increasing the renewal fee and they should never try and charge for deposit protection. Can't wait until these fees are banned in England.

I felt I received absolutely nothing in exchange for the agent fees I paid. In no other walk of life does a paying customer or client get treated like this and I hate to think what tenants will receive from Breckon and Breckon once fees are banned.
