I see a lot of 1 Star reviews for Boydens and I can't say I'm surprised.
Boydens were great when my partner and I were looking for a property in Braintree. Very diligent in making sure we had options and were always quick to respond to our queries. The property we are now in was in really good condition as well and a very good deal.

Tenants be VERY careful and avoid if possible. This goes for all the big high street agents to be honest but it's not easy when you don't have much choice.
Expensive fees, VERY unprofessional and never do what they say they will or call back etc etc. Rude staff that treat you like a second class citizen if you're renting.
Be extremely aware of all their masses of extra fees for doing nothing (eg tenancy renewal, 'final inspection' etc etc).
