I used 1st let's in Glasgow for 3 years when I moved out "I was told by the manager" the lease has been changed and I had to give them my new address or I wasn't getting my deposit back, none of this was on my lease, (but aparantly that was changed) when I had no notification the shop was basically adding stuff on to another lease when I hadn't signed for it but apparently I had to follow it.
When I went to hand my keys in I had all this information I had to do before I got my keys back, this included my address, bills, council tax, and other utility bills. When I said to them why do I need proof of all this, I was then told the house would be black listed!!!!!!!!! I then said to them why didn't you tell me this on my lies this will now take a couple of weeks by the time I phone around, they then told me it was then on my lease which it wasn't!
Now I think about it they were trying to delay my process of the deposit, because after a few weeks they then keep the deposit.
I then took it to a lawyer and was told my DEPOSIT SHOULD BE IN A SAFETY SECURE PLACE NOT KEPT IN THE SHOP" I then phoned round the 3 tendency schemes and was told my deposit wasn't there. I then called the shop and the manager then told me it was which it wasn't. This is illegal what the company is doing because it's not their money. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS IT'S NOT THE SHOPS MONEY IT'S YOURS. I'm so angry that no one even had the time to phone me back about this issue.
I'm well within my right to sue the company, I then phoned the shop many times to speak to the manager who was always "on lunch or just busy" not once did the manger phone me back. All I wanted was some advice, the staff were so rude to me wouldn't give me the shop owners name etc, didn't have customer service what so ever. I then asked a member of staff the shop owners name, and was told she wasn't allowed to give it out. (I thought if I speak to him he may have some manners)
A while back the shop moved round the corner in Govanhill I was told this was to try and change their company name because of what they do to people. But then moved back once it was resolved.
I'm do everything to fight my case, as they don't have a leg to stand on, my house should have been expected 3 times a year which it wasn't. Things were needing fixed which was all done the cheap way. I have now took this to the papers because it's not right the way I was treated.
I have now took it even further and I won't stop to my case is done with!
Please be aware of letting companies and if your renting your within your right to ask where u deposit is lodged. Letting agencies will do anything to keep hold of your money!
I would rather be homeless than rent from this company, not one member of staff has manners there all so rude, When I lived in my flat not once did they have any problems with me or my partner. As I said above anything to keep your money.
I would seriously consider renting from this company, as it's not a well run company and when your time comes to leave you will have the same hassle as I did. I'm not giving up I can't believe how bad I was treated. The landlord was a great guy but he took nothing to do with the property once I moved in. He just let the company deal with it. I then had no contact with him so I then had to follow through with the company.
Now going on to the site, they have advertised my property and it doesn't looooook like tht inside!!! yet again false advertisement! I think it looked like that almost 10 years ago. All I can say is terrible company.
