Lied to steal deposit.
I would strongly avoid this company. I was told the same by a friend who originally rented with them and told me they tried to retain his deposit for no reason, but didn't heed the warnings.
Company accused me of damaging the door, despite showing proof that the damage wasn't like this on the last day. Company did not acknowledge this, and then sent this to an independent adjudicator, where they then changed the story, lying and saying I changed the locks when I hadn't.
Fortunately the Adjudicators realised how dishonest they had been during this, and decided to award me the full deposit. I was appalled by the service provided, and I strongly recommend you don't rent from them - and if you already do, make sure you take video footage of everything. They will try anything to take your money.

This agency are unorganised, unprofessional, and incompetent. The flat itself was damp, there were flies/maggots living behind the sink due to a lack of sealant/dampness (which was not a health hazard apparently..) and the dishwasher stopped draining and sat with mouldy, festering water in it... This agency are unorganised, unprofessional, and incompetent.
The flat itself was damp, there were flies/maggots living behind the sink due to a lack of sealant/dampness (which was not a health hazard apparently..) and the dishwasher stopped draining and sat with mouldy, festering water in it for 5 weeks while the first lets team ignored/denied the issue.
Particular shoutout goes to Kayleigh, the receptionist. She always made calling up to report genuine issues a pleasure with her awful manner and pathetic attitude towards customers.
A horrific experience, from start to end.

From the get go we should have avoided this agency. When trying to find out if we were successful with our application we had to chase this company for almost two weeks Each time we would phone with a concern we were told someone would phone us back - nobody ever did.
Agency told us the flat would be professionally cleaned before we could receive the keys - on our move in day there was clear evidence no/little cleaning had taken place. Windows were thick with dirt, floor was covered in a thick layer of dust/food debris/grease and paint. Kitchen counters were covered in dust/dirt.
Previous tenants had done an excellent job of hiding any problems with the property with their personal belongings so feel as if our viewing was a poor representation of what was actually being offered.
Neighbour below us rightfully complained when water from our bathroom started leaking through their roof - agency were contacted re this and the concern was ignored.
Our deposit was put into the safety deposit scheme on the very last day it could be submitted - this was after I chased the agency all day as to why they had not secured our deposit.
Landlady refused to change the blinds even though they were covered in BLACK MOULD!!!!!!!
Had to chase agency for weeks to get a copy of our gas/electric certificate.
No smoke alarm/carbon monoxide monitor was in place prior to us moving in.
Overall our experience was horrendous and staff members often smirked in our faces instead of offering help/advice.
Kitchen sink blocked within a month of us moving into the flat and initially we were told this was our fault and would have to pay for any damage - I find it hard to believe we could block the sink after such a short period of time.
I feel sorry for any future tenants. This agency and landlord are after pure profit and could not care less about the tenants living in their properties.
We have learned an expensive lesson and from now on we will be vetting and agency/landlord thoroughly before making any decision.

I moved out in January 2018 and initiated getting the fee back then next month. I finally received it yesterday, 20 April 2018. This was after a letter, phone calls and various emails. While they gave an impression of taking it seriously, I was fobbed off for weeks ("we're thoroughly checking our accounts" etc) and no contact was initiated by 1st Lets - I had to keep the pressure on constantly. It was only when I said I was ready to file at the Sheriff Court that I was told the money would be returned and even then, it took more than another week.

I have been under the impression for around a week that I've been accepted for one of the flats 1st let's deal with so have began the moving our process as I still live with my parents and this is my first flat with my fiancée. They avoided me for days, coming up with excuses when I called and redirecting me to several different people whom we're all extremely unhelpful. I have now received an email saying the land lord is selling the property so I can no longer move in after speaking to them not two days ago and having a conversation about move in dates. I personally feel like this has been done intentionally as they are not professional enough to deal with the problem head on and have messed me about for days. As this is my first flat without my parents I have been put off extremely and my confidence has been knocked to the floor in regards to letting agents and flat viewings as I'm scared this will happen again. I am disgusted by the way the staff have treated me and if anyone is offered a flat from 1st Lets and the landlord is called 'A Jenkins' I would avoid at all costs because it will be swept away from under you due to their own selfishness. I will never use this letting agent again no matter how desperate I am and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Shame on this company.

The flat was nice though, but again they asked us for the ridiculous -�100- holding fee of which if unsuccessful in getting back we would be charged - �35- per adult for applying! This being told to us after we had filled out the application forms and then questions them on why they needed our bank details!
Highly un- professional people!
They were also very rude to people who had a tenancy with them already while we were there!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! First, they are still charging the illegal �100 reservation fee, which I never got back. The deposit always should have been sent to My Deposit within 30 days, and it was sent after 7 months and only because I asked the Trading Standards Officers to help me with the case. Things were broken since day one, and 12 months later were still broken even though I insisted on getting them fixed. They never turned up for the full inspection saying that they were busy that day. I got the full deposit only because I asked the landlord to come and check the place before giving him the keys back. They are UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, and only looking for your MONEY. AVOID!!!

Without going into the long and boring details, due to Kendal's attitude I am now escalating this away from 1st Lets and towards a) the landlord's insurers and, b) 1st Lets Liability Insurers. Her aggressive tone from the outset of contact simply fanned the flames of dispute. If I was Donna or the director of the firm I'd be giving serious thought to some customer service training for Kendal or giving her role to her colleague Anne who has a much more professional and pleasant demeanour

I was a tenant with this company for over 3 years and I have had no issues in dealing with them at all staff are always friendly and helpful and repairs are carried out on time with no issues. When I had moved out they inspected my property and had no issues and my deposit was returned to me straight away with no hassle I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a property to use 1st Lets as they are very professional and have a wide range of properties to choose from.

I have rented a property through 1st Lets for over 5 years and have had no issues with the property i was living in. I have rented a property through 1st Lets for over 5 years and have had no issues with the property i was living in. When i had moved out they told me there were no issues in the property and the deposit was returned to me on time and in full. I would highly recommend this company and would have no problem in renting through them again when i would be needing a flat in Glasgow
