Me and my partner found a perfect located flat and we were very excited about it all. We have had very smooth start until we have discovered that our new flat has not been repaired or even checked before we moved in. First we discovered was washing machine labeled as last serviced in 2004, not working of course- Chancellors said that they will never check this at Inventory check and it is not theirs responsibility (?!). They also said that it is NOT urgent and they will inform us after speaking to the Landlord. After 4 days an Engineers turned up to say that we need new washing machine, still haven\'t heard about it since then (it is taking now almost 2 weeks).
Another problem started when we discovered that heating at this flat doesn\'t work (it is GAS heated), thanks God we have emergency electric Boiler, as we wouldn\'t have hot water for over a week now, and as you know it is minus temperatures out there. All what Chancellors said about it is that again it isn\'t something they would check in Inventory check and it is not theirs responsibility. They have arranged an engineer and it is taking a week to come and fix it. We have been freezing cold in our flat, sleeping in clothes and treated like an idiots.
How can you rent a flat with no heating working? And in the middle of a Winter month?! I am so disappointing as I have just came out of one flat (renting 3 years with Grants)- not great either, to be treated unfairly AGAIN by other Agency! God help me
