I pay to live in the QED on Frederick Road, just as you pay to live on Frederick Road, and it was completely unbeknownst to me until a few weeks ago that I was not allowed to keep my personal vehicle on site. When renting with Oakmans in the QED, both this and last academic year, Oakmans did not inform me that I would not be allowed to park my car on this road as a student, despite me explicitly asking them in person. If they had told me that I was absolutely not allowed to do this after having enquired about this, I would have arranged to live elsewhere. I only found out that I was not allowed to park anywhere on Frederick Road after receiving a note from residents telling me that I should not bring my personal vehicle, to what seems as if is ‘your’ personal road, a few weeks ago. I have to use my car regularly to commute to a placement this academic term and believe me, it would absolutely not be my first choice to bring my pride and joy, which I have worked extremely hard for, to an area I do not know well for an extended period. Oakmans definitely failed me here because I did discuss this with them and they caused a whole lot of additional headache. Nonetheless, arrangements have been made to keep my vehicle elsewhere no thanks to Oakmans or you, as resident homeowners for that matter.
