Accommodation : The QED Frederick road
Pros:
1. Brand new amazing looking building.
2.In close proximity to alot of food places and nextdoor to sainsburys.
Cons:
1.Door key WILL NOT work first time so if you are in a hurry then just accept you will be late. VERY frustrating. usually locks fine.
2. Door key can randomly mess up/deactivate on its own sometimes (not due to phone nfc) and makes a weird noise so if you want to lock it you will have to wait till the next working day to get it sorted.
3. Oakmans Estate agents
3a. Promised Ethernet connection for high speed internet on viewing but did not deliver even after complaints from multiple residents of the property (>10). Not good when you rely on fast speeds for your work to pay for things.
3b. Microwave broken for over 6 months (from december onwards) but nothing was done after multiple requests.
3c. Internet provided was VERY unstable and unusable at times. Slow speeds during evening hours. Good early morning (2am onwards).
4. Absoutely anyone can get into the property.
5. ALOT of drug use in and around the property
6. Drug use not addressed after many complaints as it does not financially affect the estate agents. An email was sent out 3 months later but its too late by then.
7. Too hot in the property in the summer but can easily be fixed by buying a fan.
----
8. CHARGED £40.00 FOR CLEANING A ROOM THAT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION. The room was cleaned twice from side to side and windows closed to ensure no dust would enter. Batroom cleaned too. Before leaving the property emails were sent many times to let people know to use their own cleaning service for which they charge £40 as last year majority of rooms were charged extra fees (maybe trying to promote their own services). Seems like they were going to charge regardless of the condition of the room. This really annoyed me and 3 other residents of the property as we had spent 2 days cleaning from top to bottom.
9. £200 admin fees is excessive. On top of the £600 deposit.
Summary: good looking property with the worst estate agents/management, bad internet and extra charges at the end.
Comment on agent fees
bad
