We have a rental property which is let via Dowen. We are quiet happy about the tenant that they arranged for the property, however, now and again she pays the monthly rent a day or two late, which in itself is not a problem. The problem is, is that Dowen don\'t tell us that the rent has not been paid on time, this then has a knock on effect for our cashflow as we have to wait a week or two for Dowen to put it in one of their two runs a month.
I am not sure why a simple phone call cannot be made, nor am i sure why the agent can only do 2 Bacs runs a month, whereby we may have to wait 10 -14 days for our rental income from the property. The agent is paid a good monthly fee for this service, and if it wasn\'t for the hefty exit charge on the Tenancy agreement, i would move the property to another agent, which is what i will do when our tenant leaves the property.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Considering the amount of money we pay them to \'manage\' the property i would have expected at least a call to let us know that our rental income is late, and also the rental money to be forwarded to us at the earliest opportunity rather then them just sitting on it for a week or 2.
