1. Extremely unprofessional and disorganised finance team
I can't emphasise this enough: the finance team is absolutely, horribly disorganised and unprofessional.
- I was sent an incorrect late rent demand on the day I moved out, even though I already paid a week ago. What's funnier is that the amount they said I owe is different from the amount I was supposed to pay.
- I was sent the wrong check-out inventory report, after moving out. It's not just the wrong name, but also the wrong property all the way across Hyde Park in Paddington!
- A rent refund I was due was not refunded until 3 weeks after I moved out. I had to pester the Admin and Finance team to get the refund.
- The refund was less than the one I was due, because of a water charge which I was NOT invoiced for.
- Even when I agreed to pay for the water charge, I was still due some small amount of money, which Olga, the finance manager, completely ignored.
- The sums she calculated DO NOT add up, and I wasn't shown the calculation before receiving the incorrect refund.
- I emailed the finance team / Olga with the sole purpose of receiving the correct amount of refund. Yet I get the response of "I will be appreciated for your patience during the communications". How cocky is this?! I have never dealt with such ungrateful and inefficient people.
- Also the team is not fluent in English. Emails have grammar inaccuracies. A plain sign of unprofessional service.
TL;DR the finance team lacks basic numeracy skills and politeness towards a client. Please employ someone else to manage the finances!!!!
2. Properties are not well taken care of
The property is riddled with problems, most prominently water leakage. The maintenance team was eager to investigate and fix the leakage. However when part of the bathroom gave way and broke, resulting an approx.15cm diameter hole in the wall, the team just decided to cover the hole up with a panel. That to me shows that they are not committed to fixing root problem of the properties they manage. NOTE: this only applies in Grenbeck Court in Earls Court.
Furthermore, when I moved in, the property was not professionally cleaned despite the contract stated the agent/ landlord would pay for the cleaning. I had to send photos of how extremely dusty it was to make sure the property was cleaned. As it turned out, the professional cleaning was done at the same time (?!) as maintenance works were carried out. I was told this when the cleaner came over the second time. This shows how disorganised and illogical their processes are.
In summary, I will NEVER rent any properties managed or advertised by PVL and would never recommend them to anyone. They are a waste of time and money!
