Andrews letting have been managing our uk property since we moved to Australia 4 years ago, the first 3 years were fine.
Since Chris Archer was appointed manager things have gone from bad to worse, he has ignored all emails for the last 4 months and promises to phone never happen. The original girl at the office we were dealing with was always polite and attentive. Unfortunately she left like a few other female members of staff under Mr Archer.
We have had the same tenants in the house for 4 years, the original agreement was for 2 years and that was then extended by a further 2 years. We have just found out that Mr Archer changed the tenancy agreement for the second 2 year period without telling us, removing an important clause that was in the original. As our agent Mr Archer signed the new agreement for us so we never got to see what he had done.
Katherine Morrison at Andrews is looking after our house, if you can call it that. Over the last 3 months she has been away from the office for over 5 weeks, during which time no other member of staff deals with outstanding issues.
Our tenants are now in the last few months of the agreement and have become \'difficult\'. Late payment of rent and damage to property is starting to surface and its clear Inspections where never done correctly. Katherine has informed us \'"Not to worry, allow the tenants to damage the property and we will deducted it from the deposit". Prevention should be the better option and there is a legal obligation to mitigate any damage. Plus £30,000 of damage deducted from a £4000 deposit .....that don\'t work. They have constantly ignored our written instructions.
We are now in the last 3 months of the tenancy and Katherine has terminated the agency agreement as we informed her she was incompetent. We have to now return from Australia to manage the property in the last few months as no agent is going to take on some other agents mistakes and for only a 3 month period.
