The dealings with Andrews letting agents that myself and my partner receive was very good. They kept us informed all the way through the whole process. Whilst searching for a property the would keep in contact often to tell us about properties that had come up and the willingness to fit there times around our lives for viewings. They have been very helpful and supportive when a previous tenancy fell through at the last minute, customer service brilliant and would highly recommended. Agency fees good compared to last agents we were with, even though that was a cheaper property.

Andrews have invariably been courteous and helpful beyond what one might reasonably expect. This is an industry that is cut-throat and not always ethical but in those respects Andrews have proved themselves to be an exception.

Having read other comments I fear that yours is a medium that attracts those with 'a chip on their shoulder' or have a petty grievance, just like Tripadvisor. Satisfied clients on the whole do not bother to submit comments. Well, this is one who wishes to re-balance the scales.

I have been looking for a flat to rent for the last couple of months in Tunbridge Wells and found that the properties were either being snapped out quicker than you could arrange a viewing or involved ridiculous agent fees.
When I found the flat I eventually moved into through Andrews it could not have been easier. I met David on Friday night at the arranged time and took a look at the flat which I decided to go for. I arranged to meet with David the following day to pay the holding fee (which is refunded back) and supply my documents. By Saturday afternoon I had been sent the online referencing form and by Monday afternoon I had been told all was good to proceed.
At this point I was dealing with Anthony and we arranged for the deposit to made via bank transfer. All was arranged for me to move in at the end of that week and they even offered services to notify the utility companies and council that I was moving in.
On the whole I was very pleased with the friendly and efficient service offered by both David and Anthony. I would definitely look to rent again through this branch of Andrews.

Rented with Andrews for six and a half years.all was OK until we ended the tenancy due to needing a bigger place we were not listened to at all regarding negotiations for our deposit.we feel we had to settle for the full amount being paid to the landlord as we couldn't afford what they original wanted(it was more than our deposit)when I did speak to a guy he was very rude.think it was Chris someone.we felt the items that were proposed were general wear and tear,e.g. carpets which were not new when we moved in.we feel after the tenancy ended that Andrews showed us a couldn't care attitude.actually thinking of taking it higher as it caused us so much stress etc.. and will be warning everyone to not have any dealings with them at all.

I started my tenancy with Andrews 8 years ago and for the first few years the experience was very pleasant. If I had a problem I could ring the local branch and the issue was dealt with promptly and good contractors employed.
However in 2007 this changed. My boiler (which had been in place since construction in 1995) broke down. It took three months to get a replacement! After this the management of the property went to a centralised system with all enquiries going and coming from Bristol. As soon as i signed an extension to the tenancy for a year without fail six months later Andrews emailed demanding if i wanted to extend the tenancy and arbitrarily putting the rent up. I argued that the increase was not comparable with similar rents in the same block that they themselves had on offer! they reluctantly gave in but still harassment continued to sign up again for an extension (of course with booking and admin fees.
Two years ago the bath developed a hole. When reported Chris Carpenter-Beck stated were not going to change this as "The landlord will not make cosmetic improvements or authorise the property to be fully decorated every couple of years or authorise kitchen or bathrooms to be replaced just because they have been in the property for years. If something is wrong with it, we can rectify this."
There was something wrong! months a plumber had been dispatched and a quotation obtained.... then nothing.. a few months ago yet another plumber appeared and gave a quote... and still nothing has happened! Yet another plumber was sent out and and a price sent through to Andrews and of course still no action. I had at that time instructed the letting agent that until the bath had been repaired or replaced I would not give an answer. So I had a letter informing me that I was due to quit the flat.
To be honest thank god I am out of there and don't have to deal with Andrews. Local was great Corporate was nothing short of a farse. I have no argument with the local branch they were courteous and professional. however the call centre mentality in Bristol is unacceptable for a professional organisation and certain members of that group are letting the good name of Andrews
As an end note to this I and to tipify the lack of customer skills they have I am due to move out on the 27th of this month. However I have been let down by the charity due to collect the final furniture (a sofa chair fridge and washing machine, however another could come and pick it up on the 28th. I have just had a call from Chris Carpenter-Beck of Andrews saying this was not acceptable and that I will be charged for removing the furniture! No mater that they have previously contravened the contract and indeed criminal law by previous actions. I am afraid I swore at Chris today on the phone. This is the first time I have done that. THAT IS HOW UPSET I AM BY ANDREWS.

Two months and still no tenants. I then got an email from our next door neighbour saying they could not understand why the property was still not let as the agent was there 2 or 3 times a week. So much interest and no takers, what was going on!
I asked my neighbour to check on the property next time they noticed the agents car outside. Well you can imagine my upset when I got a phone call from my neighbour saying the agent was there again with another member of his staff and having looked in the window....well lets just say I hope she got carpet burn.
I removed my property from Andrews and within two weeks had a tenant. I complained to the manager and never got a reply. Don't use this company,

Katherine Morrison is never in the office and when she is we don't get any meaningful reply. In fact on occasion she has sent us confidential information that had nothing to do with us or our property. Its a worry to think she might be sending our information to other clients and who knows who's hands that information could end up in.
We have tried to contact the manager but emails and phone calls never get a reply. We now want to find a new agent but don't want to alarm our tenants mid lease.
Inspections are not done
The tenancy agreement is not as we agreed
No notification that rent has been collected.
Late or no reply to our communications.
Sent us confidential information on another client.

Andrews letting have been managing our uk property since we moved to Australia 4 years ago, the first 3 years were fine.
Since Chris Archer was appointed manager things have gone from bad to worse, he has ignored all emails for the last 4 months and promises to phone never happen. The original girl at the office we were dealing with was always polite and attentive. Unfortunately she left like a few other female members of staff under Mr Archer.
We have had the same tenants in the house for 4 years, the original agreement was for 2 years and that was then extended by a further 2 years. We have just found out that Mr Archer changed the tenancy agreement for the second 2 year period without telling us, removing an important clause that was in the original. As our agent Mr Archer signed the new agreement for us so we never got to see what he had done.
Katherine Morrison at Andrews is looking after our house, if you can call it that. Over the last 3 months she has been away from the office for over 5 weeks, during which time no other member of staff deals with outstanding issues.
Our tenants are now in the last few months of the agreement and have become 'difficult'. Late payment of rent and damage to property is starting to surface and its clear Inspections where never done correctly. Katherine has informed us '"Not to worry, allow the tenants to damage the property and we will deducted it from the deposit". Prevention should be the better option and there is a legal obligation to mitigate any damage. Plus £30,000 of damage deducted from a £4000 deposit .....that don't work. They have constantly ignored our written instructions.
We are now in the last 3 months of the tenancy and Katherine has terminated the agency agreement as we informed her she was incompetent. We have to now return from Australia to manage the property in the last few months as no agent is going to take on some other agents mistakes and for only a 3 month period.
