I wrote a review on their places page but someone at the company deleted it! I asked Google if this was allowed and it is, because they 'run' the google page.
Like other reviewers I am very unhappy with their service. The main problems are that:
The contract is hugely in their favour, with several hidden charges, yet they don't even adhere to their paltry commitments. Further they are truly awful at responding to calls and emails. For example:
a) I was told the house would be 'professionally cleaned' ( I almost laughed aloud when the girl told me this while showing me it. My pessimism was right). Instead when I moved in at the long-agreed time there was still a couple of cleaners giving the house a desperate wipe around. All the rooms were dirty and the bathroom was horrendous. I will have to pay a 'charge' of £50 to get the house cleaned when I leave. Clearly they hire a couple of minimum wage cleaners for a couple of hours and pocket the rest.
b) Several vital appliances were broken upon moving in. When i complained about this they didn't respond to the email for ages then gave me a vague promise it'd be sorted. Now repairmen turn up without us being giving the requisite notice, and one even let himself in! Recurring problems have met the same response: long delay without response, then surprise visit from repairman.
c) They NEVER answer the office phone.
d) Despite the inadequate number of bike racks around the apartment blocks, they leave rude notices around forbidding bikes being locked to anything but an official rack.
e)No locks on the doors in our 3 bedroom apartment.
f) anyone can get into apartment blocks by pressing 'tradesmen' button. We were never told about this!
What agent could do to change your mind?
They mislead prospective tenants about the quality the home will be in on arrival, don't adhere to agreed move-in times, hide rip-off clauses in the contract, monopolize North Oxford, and use that to mark up rents, don't respond to customer contact-which is a key responsibility of theirs, for which they take money from both landlords and tenants!, invade homes without giving the required notice.
They shouldn't have done any of this. Their monopoly will remain, and their student tenants are here for such little time that few will bother making complaints. But perhaps, if some tenants read this review, they too will complain and NOPS will provide better service to their overcharged customers.

As mentioned elsewhere, we provide all new tenants with an inventory when they move into their property. This has to be returned within 7 days and you are able to annotate it with details of any problems you have found in the property.
We always aim to be polite to people and to respond promptly. We are sorry if our service didn't meet your expectations.
