Within one week, I have already had so many problems. No heater, no washing machine, bed totally gone, no TV point, communal areas not cleaned, car clamped because they didn't give me a a parking permit they were meant to give me. I have written to the managing director. I wonder what his response will be, his opening line perhaps, "we pride ourselves on good customer services". If you want throw your money at the wall, use Atlantis Property Letting!

Yes, a very memorable conversation with yourself, which was typical of your lack of customer service skills.
A series of excuses; my two favourite lines - when asked why the cleaners don't clean the communal areas, you said, " I sweep down my own carpets rather than vacuum."
When I told you about the bed and no TV point, you said " what do you expect luxury?"
If only the carpets were swept at least!
I suppose you also have a shower in the dark,(the lights don't work in any of the 3 bathrooms). I expect that this is to cover up the rising damp that is invading the walls.

Further to your comments above you emailed our Chairman, John Sykes, on 9th November at 16.24 to complain and he responded to your email 2 minutes later, at 16.26 advising that he would look into it and we would come back to you shortly. I then spoke to you within the hour and concluded your complaint. All the issues had been resolved except for the heater which you reported, that day, and I have since been informed by our maintenance department that the heater is working.

While my experience was not quite as bad as Rob's, we had a pretty horrible time while renting through these lowlife scam merchants. We were without the main bathroom and the balcony and the front door for nearly five months, and would have been more if we had not got Environmental Health involved. What agent could do to change your mind?
As outlined in the review there were many instances of unethical / disrespectful behavior which seems to be ingrained into the culture of this organisation. If the owner of this small agent is not responsible for this bad culture he should seek a wholesale review of how they comply with managing lettings and seek to improve internal systems so that they can make the necessary profits without breaking the basic standards expected by tenants in Reading.

As mentioned in the review the agent attempted to charge fees which were not in the contract and also they did not assist us at all as tenants siding solely with the landlord at all times, therefore not acting as an independent third party agent.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent needs to be clear right at the beginning re the charges which tenant might need to pay during and at he end of tenancy. Also, they should communicate with the tenant in timely and transparent manner to avoid any misunderstanding.

Dear Mohit, I'm sorry you've not been entirely satisfied with your rental experience and have taken to this website to air concerns. Just to confirm a couple of the points you've made, firstly all fees associated with a tenancy are clearly outlined in the Tenancy Agreement you signed prior to moving in. Internal Complaints Procedure

If you believe you have a grievance, please write in the first instance to “The Property Manager” at:

The grievance will be acknowledged immediately, investigated thoroughly in accordance with established “in-house” procedures, and a reply sent to the complainant within twenty-one days of receipt of the letter.
