Terrible experience with this company dealing with Alistair McMurdo - the guy had no time for us when showing us around a home viewing we where viewing, we applied for a property we could afford quite easily, after supplying all required documentation, paying our holding deposit right away and trying to get a hold of them for 2/3 days to see what was going on he eventually got back to us telling us a blatant lie that the landlord had choosen another viewer yet the landlord told us no-one else had viewed his property, we also confirmed that after the agent told us so.
He not only lied about this he basically went on to ask what age i was how i was making so much money etc and told me he was not happy about how i was being payed my money (Via bacs and paypal) and didn't want me to take the house even though the landlord was perfectly happy with it.
He admitted he didn't even check my employer references or previous letting references and made the decision personally which i think is discrimination
You wont get a house with this mob unless this guy likes you basically.

Yes
I am somewhat surprised at the comments above.
Firstly we do not lie!
The truth is, there was so much more to this application, for a property at £2200 pm, and have outlined the facts below.
We are governed by the Data Protection Act and are therefore limited to what we can post regarding this application.
I can confirm...
There was no clear proof of income and you were given numerous chances to supply this. We are legally required to establish the source of income which we were not comfortable with.
You also confirmed "...you did not have an employer as such" , so how could we check income. As explained at the time, that was one of the main sticking points we had!
We had not contacted your current letting agent as that point intentionally, as we wanted to ensure your income etc was fine first, before unsettling another landlord.
So, it is not a case of "admitting we hadn't contacted LL and E"
There were certainly previous viewers to you and we have DATED email discussion of this to the landlord.
I never carried out your viewing, so am unsure how I could have been offhand, another member of staff did this. I was on holiday then!
With regards to asking your age etc, these are standard questions on the application form, they were not asked as stand along questions.
If you were unsuccessful with the property I can fully understand your disappointment.
However, I think if we are all honest with the reader here, the points made are not accurate as the above shows and would reiterate again that there is more goes on with an application than we are able to divulge for DP reasons.
If you feel aggrieved I am more than happy to have a chat, rather that you posting information which is factually incorrect and portrays an agency, who work very hard with great Honesty and Integrity, in the wrong light,
Regards
Alistair J McMurdo
