If you enjoy being strung along for months on end with no light at the end of the tunnel then go ahead and get William H Brown to 'market' your house.
Never in my life have I ever come across such nasty, evil vindictive idiots who have got no interest in selling your house. We (unfortunately) decided to put our house on the market with them (isn't hindsight a strange thing?) Got vaguely told about the buyers incentive which basically means you lose out on £1000 if they sell your house which to this date they haven't by the way......beware of gimmicks like this as it's a lazy marketing ploy in which you as the vendor lose out.
We later got dragged into the office after seeing a house we liked which was up with them and basically got forced to sit down and talk to their mortgage advisor who was not at all impartial. All very pleasant tripping over themselves to make my husband and I coffee and biscuits while the mortgage advisor typed away finding us 'the best deal you've ever been offered' until she showed us the result which well...... wasn't.
We told them we were going to stay with our current lender and that we already had a mortgage sorted and it was like a scene from Jekyll and Hyde.
Lost out on the house we originally wanted but as we were tied into the longest contract in history with them, they were and are unfortunately still marketing ours.
Well all I can say is half the people who have viewed our house have not, in my eyes, been genuine at all and I don't just mean not interested in our home. I'm talking it's almost like WHB pay them £20 to come round and waste your time. Oh yeah, and the other half just don't ever appear, strange that.
Don't get me wrong we have had a few people interested until the dreaded mortgage advisor drags them in and there you go it's "Bye bye potential buyer!"
I remember buying my current home, booking a viewing and putting an offer in.....there was no pressure to take a mortgage out with the agents. As a previous reviewer wrote this kind of ploy well and truly puts people off. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't put forward offers unless you take a mortgage out with them. And as another reviewer wrote it is beginning to feel personal, like they are deliberately going out of there way NOT to sell our home. Its all very weird........
We have had a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge for when we sell our house, but now it's going to be cracked open when our contract with them is up. They have made our lives hell for nearly six months. Potential sellers please beware and don't use WHB to market your home. You will receive no feedback, hardly any viewings (that are genuine anyway) you will end up losing money on your house as you will end up reducing it thinking it's overpriced when really it's just down to their incompetence. And want proof? Currently the branch we are using have 198 properties listed for sale.......26 have sold.
