Not particularly impressed with the sales department. I have been looking for a country property with some land and have a 1.5M budget. I Found one in Laddock and wanted initially a drive past, which I did and then called the agency to ask for some information over an informal chat with Lauren, and stated I was interested. This was never followed up on in anyway and then when I was googling property recently, I noted the advertising price had been lowered. Disappointingly, I would have thought as I have expressed an interest in the property, a follow up would have been the minimum requirement of a sales staff person, or a, 'would you like to view' might have been the obvious move forward from the agent, furthermore surely as I enquired, a call to say the property had been reduced in price recently would have been the second most obvious way forward from them. I have dealt with them before offering them one of my rentals and I was supposed to be on the mailing system with them for property alerts - really?
I made a viewing yesterday, I called them. I was met by a member of the agency Brian who admitted he knows absolutely nothing about the property - Its £895,000 by the way, which I felt was appalling as it was necessary to at least have some basic details surely have details on a Victorian farm house. As I was then looking around the internal of the property he pointed out that he had another appointment on it, and they were due to arrive anytime! We were allocated just 30 minutes which we were not aware of when we had the appointment, and that alone was far to short for a property of its size and the land I needed to survey - frankly unacceptable and disgusting, as I would have thought a 30 minute appointment just about acceptable for a 2 bedroomed flat much less a country house with grounds. Then the other viewing turned up and Brian from Stags shouted across the garden anything to report back to Lauren in the office of your comments on the viewing! So totally unprofessional, in fact it would have been correct for Lauren who knows the property to have personally conducted the appointment. They may be one of the oldest established estate agents in Cornwall, but the current level of staff leave a lot to be desired. I think if I was the vendor of this place in Laddock, with this flippant approach to selling it, if I was to get wind of Stags attitude that I would do far better be placing it with a more professional agency. There has been by the way no follow up from the office either to the appointment, but they can at least read my review once this has been published. If there was a half star rating available that would be more than a generous surveyed experience. Brian Payne. Newquay.
