We took the property on the proviso a new kitchen would be put in, as Barrie advised us it would be, incorrectly, it would appear, as we lived their for a year and half and the kitchen never came. It was supposed to be unfurnished there were too sofas in the property we needed removed and a few other things that needed fixed. At this point Barrie considered us too much like hard work and advised that our contract with them would be on paper only and the landlord would sort everything out. Thankfully our landlord was very nice, but Barrie did nothing for us. Very happy to take your money and charge renewal fees but do absolutely no work for it.

This is the worst agency I have ever had to deal with. Properties are full of damp, mould and dangerous. They use cowboy tradesman and endanger renters lives while demanding money for their to cover up their actions so it doesn't come out of their ...

Beware of this company, they need constant chasing to get anything done. We rented from Barrie Alderton for 6 months and it was awful. -The first mistake was that the written contact said 12 months when we had verbally agreed to 6. -the house wasn't clean when we moved in, the bathroom was particularly mouldy- the shower curtain was stuck to the bath with mould. - the house had a number of issues, some of which were sorted, some weren't, but generally I had to email and ring them endles ...

Worst agency I've ever had to deal with. They try to appear professional in their emails but face-to-face they really aren't. We had some terrible mould issues that lasted for months to the point that a whole wall was eventually covered in black mould and ...

For months, Barrie Alderton was fine. We had unknowingly rented a property with neighbours from hell, but that wasn't their fault. When it came time to move, however, the level of grief and spite that suddenly appeared was completely necessary and unprofessional - after all, ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Following the necessary procedure to move out is fine. Being treated with spite, having the referencing people phoning us upset and being deliberately difficult should be left in the playground.

When being shown around the property our group and the group that came before us were promised that the kitchen would be refurbished (no handles on units, peeling wallpaper, doors hanging off of their hinges). We later expressed interest in this property and also asked ...

Not made empty promises, been far more open and honest and treated us better than an annoyance.
