Worst agency I've ever had to deal with. They try to appear professional in their emails but face-to-face they really aren't. We had some terrible mould issues that lasted for months to the point that a whole wall was eventually covered in black mould and they didn't care and put the blame on the freeholder. It seemed to us like they were always trying to find excuses and never called us back. Then our ceiling collapsed and we spent a month without a ceiling! Again, they didn't seem to care at all, we didn't get any compensation and spent hours every week emailing them and calling without results.
However, when they needed something from us (guarantor forms, etc.), it had to be done within days otherwise they would threaten to put the property back on the market. That happened while we were abroad in the middle of nowhere on holiday and they put us in an extremely stressful situation, as if the contract renewal could not wait two days.
We're now dealing with a really nice and professional smaller agency and what a difference!

Beware of this company, they need constant chasing to get anything done.
We rented from Barrie Alderton for 6 months and it was awful.
-The first mistake was that the written contact said 12 months when we had verbally agreed to 6.
-the house wasn't clean when we moved in, the bathroom was particularly mouldy- the shower curtain was stuck to the bath with mould.

Following the necessary procedure to move out is fine. Being treated with spite, having the referencing people phoning us upset and being deliberately difficult should be left in the playground.Attached Filesnbsp;
