Terrible experience with this agent from day 1 - moved into one of their managed properties at the end of June 2012 and have had nothing but problems since. Find Pat Robson & Co to be rude, arrogant and will do nothing unless hounded. The property is supposed to be a \'professional let\' but we have experienced better students lets in Jesmond during the past 3 years.
On moving in day the property smelt of damp, black mould was apparent throughout the lounge - on walls and furniture. The ground floor apartment was filthy - dirty carpets, mould on furniture, dust and cobwebs on surfaces - kitchen appliances dirty. Even toe nail clippings on the lounge carpet and dirty tissues and hair down the sides of the sofa! Cleaners had to be called in twice and even then it was not carried out to a particularly high standard.
Furniture not of good quality and in many cased not fit for purpose - i.e. mattress absolutely disgusting, filthy and old - it was eventually replaced as we would not accept the agents \'it\'s fine, nothing wrong with it\' comment. Set of drawers falling to pieces, curtains trailing on floor in access area which represented trip hazard, HOLE in the bottom of oven, temperature/programme control has no markings so you have no idea how to operate oven or what temperature to set, same applies to the dishwasher - unable to select programmes, freezer missing and broken drawers, was told it was fine to store food on the freezing elements (they have finally agreed to replace, after much correspondence), washing machine actually puts more dirt and marks on laundry even after it has been flushed out - now unable to use at all and the list goes on and on .......
But the most worrying thing is the BLACK MOULD, they eventually agreed to do something about it, they painted over it!! 4 weeks later we now have black mould appearing on the walls and furniture yet again and this is the summer, can you imagine the problems we are facing with the onset of winter not far away!! They blame us for not ventilating. - Pat Robson are very good at putting the blame on the tenant and saying that they are not ventilating the property and therefore it is their fault. We are now in the process of taking advice from the Environmental Health Department - we are in a property with mould growing on the walls and it is September, need I say more.
We have 9 months left of our contract - and have spent considerable time taking photographs of EVERY defect and recording EVERY EMAIL, because at the end of this let, Pat Robson appear (having read other reviews) the type of agent to withhold deposits and no doubt we will have to take further action to recover this.
Avoid like the plague!
