Well... Where to start?!
Perfect flat in a perfect location, absolute nightmare estate agent made us want to leave
From start to finish Bernard's were a nightmare.. From the first day we pick up our keys and the estate agent was late, to the last day of our tenancy and the estate agent just never turned up!
I could write 1,000 essay on everything Bernard's didn't do but quite frankly I want to move on and be happy to never hear the word Bernard's again :/ what I will do is bullet point some of the services you can expect from Bernard's and a tennant;
- Failed to provide bank details to pay rent to After we request them... on the day rent was due, ordered us to pay asap.
- Terminated the property utilities without any contact with ourselves. Leaving us to set up all new accounts with utility company's, could have been solved with a change of name on the property.
- We were being sent old bills from previous tennants and the company was threatening to turn our water off, we informed Bernard's and they said it was up to us to sort out!
- Our boiler needed a service, on the day it expired Bernard's wanted to sent someone around that same day, we were busy and said we wanted to have the 24 hours notice we are in entitled to, Bernard's said they would arrange to another day, that day came 4 months later after I sent an email reminding them!
- T.V antenna was faulty from day one, Bernard's said they would arrange a man to fix the antenna, after 3 weeks of not hearing anything, we were told they forgot to arrange it. Problem was fixed another 1 week later
- Multiple requested to at least 4 different staff members to use my contact number to contact me but up until the day we left Bernard's were still ringing my fiancƒÂ©es work phone.
- fed up with Bernard's we gave our leaving notice as soon as possible (6 months), we gave them 6 weeks notice. In those first 2 weeks we had people viewing our flat almost every day.. We had constant phone calls from Bernard's asking if we could be out of the house for this day and that day. Eventually I said no and limited it to certain week days as it was distrusting our everyday life.
- Bernard's never showed to the moving out inspection, I had left my work on an early lunch break to be there. Was told the estate agents car overheated. Received no phone call out of courtesy, nothing.
- We received a ludicrous cleaning bill that was already completed without the required liaison with our selfs, when requested a bill we were told it was a verbal quote from there cleaner, just wanting to have nothing to do with Bernard's again we accepted the bill and have lived happily ever since
Don't expect customer service or compassion from this " estate agent" wouldn't deal with them if they paid me! Caused more stress to our house hold than it's worth.
