With such a competitive market for selling and buying property and taking into consideration the different ways that this can be done these days, we would recommend you do your homework and compare fees with different agents. In light of the comments in our review, we would perhaps say that the fees were a bit high for the service provided by Bernards.

Oddly given my background (Corporate Accountant, retired), fees were not a major element in choosing Bernards over any other agency; I went with my perception of the service that would be likely to be provided rather than on level of fees, which I assumed would be equitable in what must be a competitive market. Within reason, value for money is more important to me than absolute ££s.

Fair price for a great service, previously I'd negotiated a fixed price, but found the agents maybe didn't prioritise selling the house, Bernards refused to work on fixed price, in retrospect, trying to save a few thousand, didn't work (in my case anyway).
