Before using Goldin Lemcke, I noticed that this estate agent had many more "For Sale" and "Sold" signs in the Hove area than many other agents with multiple offices - Goldin Lemcke only have one office in central Hove - which I took to be a good omen. Add to this that I noticed that the partners had considerable experience in the Brighton & Hove area, and from there I just felt they were the right estate agents to use. I was not proved wrong.
So, in conclusion, all I can say is that I found that they were thoroughly professional, very unfussy, and just got things done without creating more stress for me - the seller. My property wasn't the easiest to sell as it needed considerable renovation and would only appeal to a certain type of buyer. Despite this they managed to coordinate viewings into one hour slots where 3-4 prospective purchasers were shown round. This happened three times. The purchasers that came round were fully aware of the renovation needs, that were not apparent despite good quality photographs of the property. And Goldin Lemcke also ensured that all their negotiators viewed the property before it was put on the market.
From these viewings I received 4 offers - all notified to me by the agent. They also offered advice about which offer to accept, to put on hold or to decline, having established beforehand the other links in the "chain". The transaction was now in the hands of the solicitors, but even though Goldin Lemcke's involvement now was minimal, they still kept in contact with me to guarantee that the transaction went through with the minimum of additional fuss.
During this period and afterwards - as I was buying a property too - I dealt with many other agents. Some were - especially Graves Son & Pilcher - as good as Goldin Lemcke: others I found were tacky, inefficient and not to be relied upon. I also chose Goldin Lemcke as one of my close friends and neighbours in my road had sold through them previously and was pleased with the way they handled the transaction. Goldin Lemcke have also sold a few other properties in my former road since, so they certainly do know what they are doing and I would use them again without hesitation.
