First off, my feedback on Mosley Jarman is as a seller, so my comments are in that capacity. I should also say that brevity isn't my strong point, so before I start to go on at length, I'll provide a brief executive summary: if you live in the area covered by Mosley Jarman and are looking to sell your home, you would be mad to use anyone else.
My house sale was, sadly, the result of a marital break up. It's fairly broadly recognised that this type of scenario doesn't often make for the best showing of houses and can result, as it did in my case, in it taking some time for a sale to be agreed. Throughout that time, I could not have wished for a better, more attentive or more competent team than Nick Mosley and his staff.
It's perhaps not surprising that, being a relatively young business, Nick is heavily involved in its day-to-day running and very much on the ground. Selling with Mosley Jarman clearly benefits from this, as he's well-informed, incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, thoroughly professional and trades on common sense and good advice, rather than the jargon and nonsense that estate agents so often seem to amass a reputation for. Even better, this approach clearly cascades through the business - everyone I dealt with delivered the same level of service.
At any time, these qualities would be reassuring when you're dealing with what is likely to be your most valuable asset, but at a time when the market is difficult and can be unpredictable, it's difficult to overstate its value. For example, in my case the first sale on my house fell through after we were strung along by a buyer who ultimately tried to significantly drop the offer after dragging his heels for some time.
Given my own situation, I could have been persuaded to drop the price at least some way towards meeting the offer and an agent could quite conceivably have advised me to do just that, completed the sale and taken the fee. Not in this case - Nick spoke to me after hours one evening and told me he thought it was a cynical offer at a price he could re-sell the house at all day long. That gave me confidence not to fold under the pressure to accept a low offer at a difficult time and, sure enough, Nick did find another buyer for the house and at a much better price.
From start to finish, Mosley Jarman are a joy to deal with. To take just a few examples, they took time to make sure the photographs for the sale details were as good as they possibly could be; they provided - unprompted - regular, clear and insightful feedback; and fees are clear and reasonable.
If I ever called, couldn't speak to the person I needed to right away and was promised that someone would call me back later, they did. Every time, on the same day, without fail, Everything about the experience was as straightforward as it could be, which is useful when the process of buying and selling houses can be stressful enough when things go smoothly.
One other thing that's worth saying is that Bramhall has a lovely collection of independent retailers, from bars to bookshops to butchers. It's one of the things that gives the village its sense of character and personality. It's a great credit to the residents that they keep their local businesses going and it's something to treasure. Mosley Jarman make it incredibly easy to choose them over one of the chains, so why go anywhere else? I honestly can't recommend them enough.
