We were tenant\'s at the same address owned by one of the Execs, Tracey Smart for close to 5 years. The House when we took it on, had not been cleanly decorated, the place was tired, old Double Glazing, old kitchen, old bathroom.
For the duration of our tenancy, we had regular check up\'s/inspection\'s from the same guy. Sadly i can not think of his name. Each time he came round, we reported issues such as the Chimney Seal had gone, so water was coming in, the built in over did not work, the bathroom seal leaked with water going right through to the dining room below,the door was stiff and the lock\'s were so difficult to open we had had to replace the key\'s numerous times, and i actually ended up locked out at one point.
We had a leak that leaked, having been reported numerous times over the years, for the whole duration of our stay. At one point, it got so bad it leaked for over a whole month onto a live plug socket - eventually blowing the electrics to the whole of down stairs. This leak also drenched £6000 of Computer and musical equipment. Nobody knew what the deal was, everybody blamed somebody else, nothing ever got done, and we were fobbed off daily! It was only when i threatened to go to the papers, that finally somebody actually called us to arrange fixing it.
The Double glazing was old, and condensation built up inbetween the panes of glass. Condensation was a problem in the bedroom. We opened the window as often as possible during the freezing months, and always had the bedroom door open, yet still had mould and damp on the wall that would be our exterior wall.
A tile had slipped, or water was getting into the wall, up in the corner of the room, yet nothing again was done.
We put up with this and more, and have no just had the most fraudulent and darn right disgraceful Inspection report unpon moving out. The place was immaculate and we spent money making it that way.
They are trying to say they will not give us a single penny of our deposit! Ridiculous things such as, "There is a leaf in the toilet basin" in Tenant\'s to pay for! "Look\'s like the tenants have been forcefully opening the curtains" tenant to pay for! The broken oven that we\'ve not been able to use in 5 years, i am actually disgusted by the whole report. It appears somebody has been asked to make sure that the report point\'s a finger at us, and to make sure we don\'t get a penny!
I\'m House proud, clean, and have spent money on that place. I have just moved into what can only be described as a Pig Sty, in a new Rented House and just spent close to £800 on decorating and cleaning - yet Edward Mellor are trying to make us out to be the pigs!
Over my dead body will they be keeping a penny of what is rightfully owed to us! I will go to the papers if needs be. I am shocked that how disgraceful they are!
My advice, do not touch these! They are equally as bad, if not worse than Tame Estates who were shamed on watchdog!
