Infuriating from start to finish.
We initially were told by Dexters that our offer on a rental property had been accepted and taken off the market, only to be called up the next day saying a better offer had come in and that the landlord was going to accept that....we ended up having to sign a 2 1/2 year lease which is much longer than we would have liked.
Fast forward 18 months and we are looking to break the tenancy early so we can buy our own place - the landlord says he has no issue with this (despite Dexters saying we \'aren\'t allowed\' to speak directly with him??) however Dexters are trying to charge us 10% of the remaining rent (£1800) to do this. We\'ve said we would happily cover any actual cost of re-marketing the property - Landlord is fine with this, he will actually achieve a much higher rent than we pay, but Dexters are trying to enforce this.
If they hadn\'t messed up in the first place we would only have signed for 18 months, and if someone just used a bit of common sense now they would realise that it benefits all parties -landlord gets higher rent, thamesview get a better commission, and we get to buy our own place.
NEVER USE THEM
