I made a bid subject to mortgage on a house in the Ormeau Road area with Hampton Estates around 1 month ago, I have never had such a bad customer service experience in my life.

After my bid was made, I heard nothing from their end, so around a week later I decided to call. There was a new bid on the house, I upped mine.

Fast forward around another week, same again, no contact, decided to call…another bid on the house, so I upped mine again.

If we fast forward once, more radio silence, decide to call up and surprise surprise…another bid on the house that I hadn’t been made aware of. I decide I will make one last offer and leave it there.

Later the same day, the lack of communication really got to me so I called up to inquire as to why I had never been kept informed of any bids that had come in on the house. Managed to get through to the Managing Director who informed me that they had been told 3 WEEKS previous to only accept CASH offers.

Hampton’s had allowed me to carry on bidding for a property I had no chance of securing, POTENTIALLY pushing up the cost for all other bidders involved.

Only last week I had called to inform the team I would like them to indicate to all other bidders on the property that my bids were invalid, Hampton’s refused to do this.

Whether the lack of communication on their behalf was just a failure of systems, ignorance or something in my admittedly uneducated opinion, illegal, i’m not sure. But the fact I was able to continually push up the price on this house absolutely stinks.

Unbelievably, the day after I was finally told it was a cash offer only house, they then call me (for the first time) asking if i’d like to make another bid?! What is going on!!!

Probably the worst service in Belfast. Not only that they are rude and misbehave with the landlords and tenants. Won't recommend at all....

Very poor service. As a tenant we had to push them a lot regrading everything and none of our requests were addressed on time. Make sure you call/e-mail them 10 times before getting a response. Also, the owner and a lady who works there were ...

It made me ill dealing with this incompetent company. I had an extremely stressful experience. They were very dishonest, unprofessional and inefficient. I most definitely will not ever be using them again. ...
