Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I don't recognise you name and you haven't given us any details of the property you were trying to buy, so i cannot comment on your particular case.
I am just sorry that we didn't meet your expectations however i would like to generally address the point you have raised;
Upon receiving an offer, it is our duty to ask for a buyer to provide full evidence of their finances, identification and any necessary chain details . So these obstacles and irrelevant questions you refer to are simply to qualify if you can actually afford and proceed with buying our client's property before it is removed from the market and marked as under offer.
We are also required by law to meet the requirements of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. I am surprised that your financial adviser has criticised this behaviour as this should be the standard procedure for all estate agents.
We take buyer qualification very seriously. We do this to act in our vendors best interest as ultimately they are trusting us with the sale of their property and with 35% of sales falling through nationally due to chain or finance issues its of the upmost importance that we qualify buyers as thoroughly as possible.
