It takes a lot for me to lose my rag, but 7 months of issues, broken promises, unreturned messages and emails has managed it. We moved into our house at the end of November 2017 and since then we have had various snags and issues that needed to be resolved/ attended to. I accept that this is normal with a new build property but in the middle of July we are still waiting for towel rail caps despite telling more people within MGH on more occasions than I could ever possibly recall! 3 months to get a missing cupboard door for a kitchen unit. A leak just under our sink by the main stopcock that if I had not caught after 30 minutes would have ruined the whole downstairs. Time off work to meet trades people who never show up and then not even the common decency to pick up the phone with an explanation or an apology.

This is just a snapshot of the whole story.

The only time I get ANY sort of response is when I complain strongly by email and even then it's brushed under the carpet, I'm told it will be sorted/done by such and such date and then the whole process starts again.
I work in sales, and sometimes something goes wrong or you let someone down, but it's common courtesy to pick up the phone to acknowledge it and apologise. Then when something else is arranged why not actually double check that it is happening / has happened and make sure that you deliver on your promise after letting down your customer previously. MGH has no control over it's sub contractors or uses ones which are totally inept and unreliable, possibly both. After purchasing a house worth nearly £500k I expect so much more, and they talk a good game but having purchased a new build from Taylor Wimpey over 10 years ago and not experienced any of these problems I can't understand how nobody has addressed these issues before.

For the most part we really love the house (apart for some odd choices of low spec appliances and not fitting a proper extractor for the oven), the plot and the area we now live in....but the whole sales process has left a LOT to be desired.

The Martin Grant Customer Service manager (David Pontin) and his team have zero personal skills and I have found them to be incompetent. As a result if you want anything fixed you enter into a minefield because they don't have a clue. They market themselves ...
