Very disappointed with the service we have received from Seymours. During our 16 week contract we have had three 'sales managers' 'looking after' our sale.
When we were present for the viewings they were quite frankly embarrassing. Barring a couple most of the Seymours staff showing potential buyers round were totally unknowledgeable as they had never been to the property, they didn't know all the details and in some cases even the layout. We therefore decided to take a turn at managing our own viewings as we felt we could do a much better job, as at least we knew the property but unfortunately this was unsustainable as often viewings were during the day in the week often with potential buyers who weren't even on the market yet
We were told when we instructed Seymours we would receive weekly updates on people viewing our property on line. We received two in 16 weeks, one of which we chased.
After a couple of weeks Seymours suggested we reduced the price of the property by £25,000, which we did. This was done online but when passing the agent one evening we noticed this hadn't been done in the window ! OK, you may not get much passing trade but how difficult can it be. At the end of the contract the window still says they are awaiting the EPC when they had this and acknowledged they received it in January (it is now May)
Feedback from viewings just don't happen.
Towards the end of our contract with Seymours we decided to just give them a key but after a couple of weeks we got it back as when we returned home after Seymours had done a viewing our front door was left unlocked. I collected the key after that, no questions asked, I didn't need to sign anything to say I had taken it back, nothing.
We have moved in over 20 years and we were concerned that this is the sort of service high street estate agents provide these days but having asked around (albeit to late) it seems Seymours are thankfully quite unique
