We have rented our property through JR Hopper for 15 years and have seen their service develop over that period. We live in Bristol, so we rely on them as our Agent to act on our behalf. Our last change of tenant involved a re-furbishment of the property and a tight timescale to get the new tenant in before the new school year. JR Hopper had marketed the property, interviewed prospective tenants and recommended a new tenant to us. Following our acceptance, we engaged a local builder to re-furbish the bathroom; the tenant having asked to re-decorate and re-furbish the other rooms. JR Hopper oversaw the work and regularly reported progress back to us advising of any changes which needed our consent. Finally they arranged a meeting with the new tenant to view the work done, deal with remedial items and agree work the tenant was requesting to the garden.
Comment on agent fees
Hoppers had moved to a fixed fee from just taking the first month's rent as their re-letting fee. In recognition of the way they had managed the challenging situation involved in the change of tenant, we agreed to increase the re-letting fee to a full month's rent.
