1 - I have been renting with Hursts for the last year until I finally moved out a couple weeks ago.
At some point throughout my tenancy their maintenance team left me a little over a week without hot water or heating even after I have mentioned we had 3 children one being an infant.
It took a few days to get landlords approval and after 8 or 9 days of misery and works in the house I had a new boiler installed.
When I complained, they said it takes time to change a boiler and agree all costs, which is understandable.
2 - A few months later I am now moving out and they wasted no time in already carrying out ALL the repair and cleaning works that the house needed, without agreeing a cost or even getting one single estimate first. I called them up and asked about how much does the subcontractor charge, all I was told is that they are reasonable.
Everything extremely swift and sharp, without any negotiation of price with the subcontractor. All organised by hursts. (Obviously they already had another tenant lined up)
Now, the landlady is wanting me to pay the bill of nearly 1800 pounds for painting and cleaning. Their very reasonable priced subcontractor's invoice cover: cleaning, painting and a few items that shouldnt cost more than 50 pounds all together. All for a shy off 2 thousand pounds which I am now disputing with legal advice, causing me stress and financial damage.
Dont rent through Hursts, they did not act in the interest of the tenant. Cant give any opinion about their sales service, but if you are looking to rent, with Hursts, expect a huge headache.
