Truly one of the worst experiences of my life. I rented my property through Stapleton Long to a Housing Association through the recommendation of the branch manager Wasim Aslam (WA). I was assured that the property would be well looked after. However, I incurred numerous problems the most stressful was that the Housing Association Manager 'tenant' refused to vacate despite correct notices issued. Raised inappropriate actions of tenant with WA, he tried to intervene and despite acknowledging that the tenant was clearly in the wrong, (his loyalties were obviously on the side of the 'tenant') he then responded with an abrupt email clearly indicating he did not want to get involved. He then refused to return my calls/emails and has done since.

I endured 8 months of unnecessary nonsense and court to be granted a possession order to get this also quite obnoxious tenant out. WA is one of the most unprofessional agents I have had the displeasure of meeting. Having read other reviews about him on the internet confirms that my experience is not unusual. Had I known this before I would have avoided this joke of an estate agent altogether- a lesson well and truly learnt.

I am sorry that you felt like this. Perhaps I could remind you that you instructed us on a Let Only basis. Our instruction was just to find a tenant and you wanted to manage the tenancy on your own. I am not sure why you feel having done that, that we were responsible for management issues to include payment of rent and evicting the tenant. Despite this I did help as much as possible by calling the tenants for payments and advising you on the best way to deal with the Section 21 notices. You didn't take my advice and didn't follow the correct legal procedure which resulted in the delays you mention. May I suggest that in future you instruct a firm on a full management basis. If not then you take full responsibility for the management of the tenancy.
