We bought a property through Mayhews in December and we were part of a chain as we also had a property to sell in London. From the start of the process when we first registered with Mayhews and were shown properties by them, we were impressed. They had a good knowledge of the local area and also understood what we were looking for. I had been left distinctively unimpressed by another agency (Garnham + Bewley) who had booked me in for a viewing of a property on Hurst Farm Road and 5 minutes before the viewing (when I phoned them to make sure they were still coming to meet me, they informed me the property was no longer on the market!) The response I got from them was poor, quite honestly they didn't seem to care and I was put off ever having any dealings with them. Mayhews were quite the opposite in my opinion- professional and very true to their word and I found my viewings with then very productive. As Daniel can testify the process of selling our house was a bit of saga and I was far from impressed with the agents who were selling our property as they did not keep us informed about delays at the start of the chain (our buyer's buyer was struggling to get a buy to let mortgage) Our agents never rang us back when they said they would, were very hard to get hold of on the phone etc whereas Mayhews were always in touch and also very easily contactable. I felt like Mayhews actually cared whereas I often felt like the agents we were selling our place with did not care. Mayhews aftersales support team was very good and again this was in stark contrast with our sale side of things.
Dan was always very friendly and helpful and I found this reassuring when the whole process was getting incredibly stressful. He listened and always held up his end of the bargain- plus he politely listening to my moaning about the whole process!
I would highly recommend Mayhews because I found them to be knowledgable, friendly, helpful and very professional. When we come to sell one day we will use them without a doubt.
