I dealt with John Barker for the majority of the buying process. ( Sarah Lambert was involved with arranging the first viewing and disputing the valuation of my Surveyor.)
The biggest compliment that I can give to John is that I would like him to sell my property! Whilst of course he was acting on behalf of the vendor he more than understood the needs of the buyer, who, in my case was not familiar with the area. He understood that communicating regularly with all the parties involved would help to speed the process through and go towards producing a successful outcome.
John was always willing to help in terms of providing names of local surveyors, solicitors, builders and obtaining information about the property from the vendor. He also contacted people who for a variety of reasons were supposedly dealing with assorted snags, surveyors, insurers etc., in order to assist/resolve issues.
When the vendor became a little nervous and was threatening to place the property back on the market John was able to exert a calming influence. He realised that I was the best buying prospect and was aware, and reassured me of, the fact that I had done everything I could to move the process on. Furthermore he appreciated my position in terms of my acting on the advice of the professionals I had employed.
Even after completion John offered to be a keyholder if required and was willing to provide contacts when I came to sell my property.
John exhibited a flexible, positive attitude throughout on what I understand was his first sale having previously been involved with the lettings side if the business.
