King & Chasemore, 20 Church Road, Hove
Would you use this agent again? No

I am currently trying to find a property to rent in the Brighton area and am finding the experience really disheartening.

For the past six months, I have been looking for a one bedroom flat for myself and my Wife.

Throughout the process we have been consistently lied to by letting agents in the most callous and calculated way.

Some of the lies are small- such as promising to phone us back to tell us if we have been successful in being chosen for a property we have asked for. Thus far

Would you use this agent again? No

Where to begin with such a rude, disorganised and unprofessional company.
After going through a LOT of work to rent the property I was previously in (endless references, demands of 6 months rent up front, claiming we had gotten the referencing forms incorrect when their staff had sent the wrong ones TWICE, general rudeness to myself and housemates due to being students), I imagined that when leaving the property, they would at least make that as easy as possible.
I did not hear one word from

Hamptons International, 2 High Street, St Albans
Would you use this agent again? No

After one month speaking through e-mail and telephone to this branch informing them about the date we would like to start to let, our pets, etc we finally arranged a viewing to 3 potential Properties.
The bad attendance immediately started when we arranged the viewing. They made us go back and forward with the time/date available making my wife call me and them a few times in the same day until they let us know they could finally make it.
After 5 minutes and leaving the 1st house, we were told

King & Chasemore, 20 Church Road, Hove
Would you use this agent again? No

I found King & Chasemore through Right Move for a property that I was told was dog friendly so I went to view it. I viewed the property and wanted to take it but as there were 2 others viewing the property they would let me know. I went to the K&C office in Hove East Sussex after the viewing as I was passing and spoke to Jonathan who was helpful and took my details that were scribbled on a rough note pad and said that he would call me that day or tomorrow with an answer.
I heard nothing that d

Alba Residential, 21-23 Church Hill Place, Edinburgh
Would you use this agent again? No

I viewed a property, and after discussions with the letting agents and landlord, a verbal contract had been agreed that a new kitchen was to be put in to the property and that the property was to be painted. On this understanding I secured the property with the holding deposit and completed the tenancy application, with a move-in date to be discussed.

I was then informed that despite the verbal agreement, the kitchen would not be replaced. This was, of course, contrary to previous discussio

Walton Robinson, 101 Percy Street, Newcastle upon Tyne
Would you use this agent again? No

Disgusted by their treatment of tenants, which they seem to get away with as most are student clients. I urge everyone not to rent property from Walton Robinson!!!!
Upon moving into the flat in August the whole place had recently been painted and still smelt of fresh paint which should have served as a warning.
A problem with damp began to develop in October 2013 with small patches appearing on the top floor.
When the mould began to spread we contacted Walton Robinson about 5 times incl. phon

Review by Tenant on 22nd January 2014
Northwood, 43-45 Cross Street, Sale
Would you use this agent again? No

Northwood is one of the most unprofessional agencies that one could ever find! Do not trust them and do not hope that, if something is broken, they'll fix it, because they won't.

Upon the signing of my contract (which I wanted to be 12 months), they said they will only do 6 months. Okay. I accepted that, despite knowing that they'd increase the rent in the future. When I moved in, the flat was in an awful condition, and the cleaning that they promised wasn't done. I had to pay £120 for two

Would you use this agent again? No

We went to hamptons after riding a motorcycle around the world. We are well funded professionals who where looking to rent as we wanted to set up our own business now we where back in the UK.

At the beginning the sales team seemed great, we had some very specific questions including - Is there safe motorcycle parking for motorcycles (we had 2 high value bikes) and if we got a dog was it allowed.

We looked at the property and i asked if the parking area was secure and if they had had any th

Accommod8, Unit 64 Parliament Business Centre, Commerce Way, Liverpool
Would you use this agent again? No

I rented with Accommod8 in 2008/2009 and am not surprised to see that the company has not improved since. We experienced exactly the same problems 5 years ago as everyone seems to be experiencing now. It seems like Accommod8 will never learn from their mistakes.

Our problems included: a window falling off it's hinges and therefore would not shut (this was not fixed for months despite it being winter and therefore freezing outside), the bathroom floor started to fall away which again took ages

Royston & Lund Estate Agents, 3 Fountain Court, Gordon Rd, Nottingham
Would you use this agent again? Yes

I had a very high regard for Royston and Lund so far and consider them as one of the most professional agents in West bridgford so far. However one recent incident caused a dent in the confidence. We viewed this property on 18-Jan-14 and made an instant offer of £260k. The property was listed for £279,950. We later checked on zoopla and found out that the property was bought at £238K only 1.5 years and so thought £250K might be a good position to start with. When we called Ms Denisse on the s
