When first looking for an apartment, Bridgfords in Stockton Heath, Warrington they kept changing the time to look at the apartments because they were "running behind". When we put money down on the apartment and we given the keys and the main door code, we went to the apartment. Found out they gave us the wrong main entrance door code, and the old key. We had to drive back to get the new key and ask a neighbour for the door code cause Bridgfords didn't know. Later found out the security alarm door code also wasn't what they thought (1,2,3,4)by process of elimination we figured it out ourselves. Even one day when they came for an apartment check (which they said they sent a letter a week or two ahead of time, but we never received), they set off the alarm and called us asking how to turn it off. The apartment didn't have an inventory done but we paid 60 pounds for it be done by them so the inventory looked a mess when we had to write what we found.(we paid for something that wasn't even done) Also any changes had to go through bridgfords by letter to the landlord (3 weeks later), we got the ok to finally throw away the already soiled sheets that were on the inventory, and broken chairs(saying brand new).
When we left the apartment, we had to leave 4 days before the actual date cause they needed to do an inventory (laugh again). A lady just came in and took photos on her ipad and that was it(I know cause I was there when she did it). We had to pay and be liable for those 4 days and had to turn our keys in. We couldn't go into the apartment cause they had to get it ready for the next tenant during those 4 days. Nothing happened luckily but a horrible situation in case anything happened. Then it took a month for the letting agency to hear anything from the landlord to ok how much on the deposit. Luckily enough I left the place better than I was given it and we got the full deposit.
Overall, Bridfords are slow, never call you back unless it's to hurry up and get you into an apartment, and if you need help, you have to keep calling them (they never called me back) They work in favour of the landlord, and only want your money.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have called us back whenever we had questions. Also everyone should not be passed around to other people in the office (people are guessing about what is going on with your apartment and no one knows who's handling the case in the end). The agents should actually do inventory checks (not just do photos or nothing), if you are charging the tenant this, do it then. Very disappointed with customer service for a tenant!!!!
