The whetstone branch were shockingly bad and insulting with regards to their lack of professionalism and inability to conceal their multiple lies.
They:
*Created a conflict of interest by taking our purported buyer on as client
*did not operated in our best interest and mislead us on key facts on our supposed sale,
*lied about contact with and meeting arrangements with our purported buyer and
*Undertook a disorganised remarketing strategy in conflict with what was agreed.
Our purported buyer had bad credit. They failed both their credit and to get a mortgage.
Rather than advise us of this, BM chose to take the buyer on as clients - their mortgage adviser (also used by us) offering to help turn their bad credit around, and in so doing the buyers needs were placed ahead of ours so as to creating a conflict of interest that did not fall in our favour.
Their attempts ultimately failed. However, this whole process was going on for over two months and only disclosed in any form when I contacted BM to enquire as to the progress of our sale to be notified in any way shape or form.
Initially advice saw us being informed (wrongly) that there ‘had’ been an issue, but that this was now resolved- happy days!!!
On this and a subsequent 1 liner response to our enquiries, these communications were signed off with a galling smiley face- adding insult to injury.
After subsequent enquires, and various advisories as to set dates when the buyer would be going into the office to progress matter- all of which never transpired and new dates provided.
We decided to book-in our own appointment, to sit them down and confront them with the facts. We had them admit that
*the likelihood of the buyer getting a mortgage was already limited to 1 or 2 lenders,
*the credit checks and associated mortgage applications had not progressed (due to the buyer not coming back to the office)
* All reports of the buyer being in contact and making various arrangements to visit the office to progress and discuss matters on a stated date ( which was an excuse used multiple times) never took place- the buyer never agreed that they would come in on a stated date or time.
They appeared shocked that we said put it back on the market now, and when they did they marketed it at the wrong price.
They never apologised, only stating that the manager had left and there was a different strategy now in place, but the people who lied and participated in this were still there and co tinted after the managers departure.
Maybe they were not sorry, the cause that’s just how they roll.
