Terrible experience with Clyde Property from the beginning. Firstly when we were signing the lease they had asked for a administration fee which we were happy about but paid, then after the contract had been signed then asked for more administration fees which we refused to give as they had not mentioned either of these to us before signing the lease. so we moved into our flat where we soon noticed the boiler wasn't working, a repair man was called and soon discovered that the gas was via a gas card which we had not been told about and works out about double the normal price. A month later when rent was due to be taken out or so we thought as we had given our bank details over we got a letter through the door saying rent was overdue and we would be charged a late paying fee. Not happy i called the agency and they had forgotten to tell us that we had to set up a standing order and still demanded a late fee !. 3 months to the end of our 6 months lease dampness was leaking in through the ceiling our our flat so once again we contacted Clyde and told them of this as mould was beginning to appear on the walls. Over a month later we had still not heard anything back, i am an asthma sufferer so as you can imagine was not ideal. Phoned back Clyde and the said they had no details of us phoning them ! Couple of months later still noting done so the landlord agreed to end our lease a month early. During the final inspection of our lease we signed a document saying that there was no cleaning that needed done with the inspector which was there. Couple of weeks later we got a phone call from Clyde saying they were taking money of our deposit because cleaning was needed. The man which had done our inspection decided to add in stuff once we had signed this document , which is illegal. We told Clyde not to take that money out of our deposit as we did not sign what was written down, the man admitted to us that he had changed the inspection sheet and was sorry it was his fault but of course Clyde property took the money out of our deposit. I will be taking this further with Clyde and will tell anyone not to use them !
