Purple Bricks are unbelievable!!
1. On instruction, the, for sale sign was put up incorrectly and was not visible, except to our neighbours opposite. Despite this lack of common sense, we rang the 'contact centre' about this, but nothing was done to rectify this problem.
2. We had approximately seven viewings the week after our house was put up for sale. However, no offers followed these viewings. Our local property expert did not chase for feedback, we had to contact her to ask her to do it. The platform may be great, but it is only great if people actually follow it!
3. Three weeks went by, no contact from the solicitor. We then contacted the solicitor to enquire why nothing was happening. They told us that they hadn't received a notification of sale from the 'local property expert'!!! We then chased her again to sort this out.
4. Our buyers cancelled six surveys. Each time this happened, our 'local property expert' did not chase to find out why, it was left to us to deal with. Having seen a few of their TV adverts, we have noticed that it does not make any reference to the fact that the majority of communication with your prospective buyers will actually be undertaken by yourself.
5. Two months later, our buyers pulled out. To be informed of this, we received a text from our local property expert saying 'your buyers have pulled out.'' Extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of two months. This resulted in us losing our purchase house.
6. Once the sale was agreed, we did not know what happened next with the legal procedures etc and the etiquette, because I am not an estate agent. This is why we instructed them, but we had to find our way through this mess with the help of people around me who have used real estate agents before. Their 'post sale support team' are absolutely non 'existent.
7. We then paid the ££850 to withdraw from Purple Bricks and put our house up for sale with a local estate agent (who put the for sale sign up where it could be seen from the bottom of the road without me having to be involved in the procedure, which I thought was basic procedure and common sense) and the service has been astonishing in comparison. Despite withdrawing from Purple Bricks, they came along and took the sold sign off the board, which stayed up with 'for sale'' on it, even though I had withdrawn the instruction from Purple Bricks!! It took four days for them to come and take it away.
8. Prior to instruction we did a significant amount of research into Purplebricks and were pleasantly greeted by their marketing claims. Unfortunately, our 'customer journey' seems to be in complete contradiction to the majority of their TrustPilot reviews. Interestingly it has since come to our attention that their 'allAgents' reviews (http://www.allagents.co.uk) seem to paint a very different picture and one we must say falls very much in line with our experience.
The whole thing has been an expensive, time wasting procedure and having experienced the 'service,' we now realise it is based on a massive advertising and marketing hype with no substance, communication, advice or procedural information behind it. It was a very expensive way to have a brochure, incorrectly placed for sale sign and property put onto right move. Even after complaining, we were informed that we would be contacted by the Area Manager in 48 hours. Guess what? Nothing happened, so we had to chase again. We were then informed that the complaint would be escalated to the Regional Director. He did eventually ring us and informed us that he would take it up with our 'dedicated local property expert' and be back to us in 48 hours. Guess what? Five days went by and on the 5th day we received a generic complaint template with a couple of lines thrown in to make it feel personal. This further demonstrates the unbelievable inability this company has to professionally deal with a complaint. We will be taking this matter further.
