Avoid this DISGRACEFUL, incompetent and dishonest company. The staff (including sernior staff) are a disgrace. Don't be fooled by the slick website. Dig deeper into this company. This is my experience:
I rented a property from them and paid 6 months advance rent, because I really wanted a property in that place at that time. They assured me that the property would be fully checked before I moved in. Two months after all contracts signed, on the day of moving (in Winter), the boiler was broken and clearly had been for a long time. Gas and electricity declared unsafe by my provider. Property not earthed. Cooker and shower broken. Locks on doors broken, water coming in through the roof. The place was filthy. Everything in the place needed attention.
THEY HAD NO INTEREST IN REMEDYING THESE SERIOUS PROBLEMS. They take your money, in my case over £6000, refused to remedy the problems, refused to release me from the one year contract. I had a year of living hell. Everything was broken inside and the structure of the property was in very bad repair and much of it unsafe. Rather than address the problems, Urban Base said they could not do much about it - it was down to the property owner, even though my contract was with Urban Base! BEWARE OF URBAN BASE WHO ARE DISHONEST, and they know most people cannot afford to take them through the civil courts, which is what they deserve. One day they will cross the wrong person. This is a terrible business run by greedy, disingenuous chancers hiding behind a fancy website and a fancy office. They are clueless.
