I can honestly say I have never felt so let down and mugged off by a company in all my life. Me and my girlfriend are renting for the first time and found a really nice house. We got all the way to paying in a holding fee and writing out our references and it was going so well. Then I got a call saying that the house we had really liked is actually not for rent as the landlord has made a private sale. Truly gutting, and one can only assume that was down to a lack of communication between Austin & Wyatt and the landlord in the first place.
But this wasn't the end of my worries, the holding fee we paid electronically was then to be sent by cheque in the post. Nearly two weeks have past and still no cheque, to make matters worse we already missed out on another property due to lack of funds (just started my new job) and were on the verge of missing another really nice property. Due to the fact myself and my girlfriend are first time renters let alone buyers we have minimal savings and had a deadline to pay the deposit for the house we liked in a weeks' time. I called them up and enquired about where the cheque was and why it's taking so long. All I got was an uncompassionate response of
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agents fees are ‚£300 which is reasonable, but trying to get that back is not reasonable especially when you have every single right to claim it back. It¢â‚¬â„¢s like trying to get back a single sweet from a miserable baby that is surrounded by millions of sweets.
